11 Things I’ve Been Loving, From One Chaotic Mom to Another

Published:

Current obsession texts from another busy mom friend? They’re my favorite messages to get.

This is a random blog post, but I’ve wanted to write one like this for a long time.

So, here are 11 things I’ve been loving lately, coming from a consistently frazzled mother of three kids under age 5. If that seems similar to you, maybe you’ll like some of these things, too.

Leave a comment and let me know something random that you’ve enjoyed!

1. ACOTAR

If you’d like to be transported into another world without screaming babies and laundry piles, you have to read A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) by Sarah J. Maas.

It’s a romantic fantasy, and I never thought I’d like a book like this… but it’s one of my all-time favorites.

It’s the first book in a while that I literally could not put down. I stayed up until 2 am to finish it when I got to the point of no return. And the second book in this series is somehow even better.

The hype about this series is so well-deserved.

2. LMNT Electrolyte Packets

I’m obsessed with LMNT electrolyte packets. I found them when I wasn’t happy with Liquid IV, and I’m never going back.

They’re perfect for:

  • During workouts
  • During a hangover
  • Between alcoholic beverages to avoid a hangover and stay hydrated
  • Making water taste good if you have issues drinking just water

The ingredients are science-backed and it has no added sugars. The grapefruit flavor is my favorite with raspberry being a close second. (Hard pass on the mango chili.)

They’re pricey, but I got the best deal by doing a subscription on the 120-pack. It lowers the price to just under $1 per packet, which rivals Liquid IV at my local grocery stores. You can get a free sample pack with any purchase using my personal referral link.

LMNT really stole my heart when they started sending me samples of new products. And I am not an affiliate with LMNT – I think they just do this for all of their customers.

Last week, I got an 8-pack of their brand-new sparkling electrolyte water cans. I paid nothing for it.

3. L’anza Hair Products

My hair is perpetually dry, damaged, and frizzy. I have a ton of split ends from bleaching it, and having babies has done really weird things to my hair.

I recently found L’anza hair products, and it has made a massive difference in less than 2 weeks! My hair is so much softer, and it doesn’t feel dry and brittle anymore.

It dries almost smooth now – before, it dried horrendously frizzy.

If you have similar issues, definitely try out L’anza, especially the healing oil. I ordered this kit directly from their website and got two free products with my order (one sample size and one full size).

Gotta love a good deal.

4. Sourdough

I found sourdough last year, and I’m never going back.

It’s such a rewarding hobby. It tastes amazing, making the bread is meditative and therapeutic, and sourdough is so good for your body.

If you’re interested in sourdough, I highly recommend you check out my other blog, That Sourdough Gal.

I’d actually start by following my Facebook page, which has daily inspiration and education to help you on your sourdough journey.

5. My New Starbucks Order

My new Starbucks order is almost $8, which makes my stomach hurt. However, it’s absolutely divine, and I feel so spoiled when I get a chance to order it.

It’s called Oleato Golden Foam Iced Shaken Espresso with Toffeenut.

I cut the pumps of toffeenut syrup in half so it has more of an espresso flavor without being too sweet. It’s so good.

6. Giving Experiences as Gifts

I’m tired of decluttering, and I’m guessing many other people are, too. So, I’ve started giving experiences as gifts, typically in the form of event tickets.

I’ve done concert tickets, comedy show tickets, and even Disney on Ice tickets.

Giving memories is so much more fulfilling than more stuff.

Ticketmaster is my new go-to! It’s also perfect for last-minute gifts.

Mother’s Day coming up? How about Father’s Day? No need to wait for shipping. Purchase some tickets, print out a little sheet about the event, and you’re done.

7. Splash Swim Goggles

Splash Swim Goggles appeared on Shark Tank, and after watching their pitch, I immediately got on my phone and purchased them.

These goggles are made by moms in the United States, and the design is genius! The strap is fabric, so your child can pull them over their head without ripping their hair.

My kids love them, and there are a ton of cute designs.

8. Shine Sweatshirt

My mom sent me this Shine sweatshirt, and I’ve worn it for the last 4 out of 7 days. I literally throw it in the washer by itself so that I can wear it again.

It’s so comfortable. I love the color, and she sized up, so it’s baggy and cozy.

If you want a lounge-around-the-house sweatshirt that also gets you compliments somehow, this is the one.

9. Cowboy Caviar

We’ve made cowboy caviar way too much lately, but it’s so delicious!

The ingredients are healthy, and you can make a big batch to snack on or have for lunches all week. Somehow, even my kids will eat this, which is a downright miracle.

Here’s the recipe!

10. Chewable Kid’s Tylenol

I may have been living under a rock, but I didn’t realize until a month ago that children’s Tylenol comes in a chewable format.

If your kids have any issues with the liquid or just prefer a chewable, this is a game-changer!

It’s simple to put in my purse and give to my kids when we’re on the go. No sticky messes.

11. Etsy Chore Chart

I wanted to start teaching my kids responsibility, but my brain needs some form of order and organization.

I found this chore chart on Etsy, and it is fantastic. I need to do a better job of checking in with my kids daily, but this thing works.

My kids get excited to check off their tasks, so it’s not like pulling teeth to get them to tidy up their rooms or make their beds. Plus, this thing is sturdy and beautiful!

Conclusion

That’s it – just a quick little list of things that bring me joy.
